Biography

      Sergei Ioannisyan is a drummer, band leader and composer. Sergei graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music, where he currently works. Sergei Ioannisyan worked, performed and recorded with vibraphone/marimba master two Grammy Award winner Dave Samuels, jazz stars NY-based pianist Aaron Goldberg and one of the most sought after NY bassists Reuben Rogers, Tony Bennett’s bassist Marshal Wood, number one bassist in the New England John Lockwood and with the top Berklee’s professors Daniel Ian Smith, Donna McElroy and Bob Stoloff just to name a few. Sergei Ioannisyan is a band leader as well as a sideman. He has performed at the best concert venues in the US and abroad. His appearances include: The Boston Symphony Hall, The Berklee Performance Center, Hynes Convention Center, Ryles Jazz Club, Wilson G. Chandler Recital Hall (USA), Phalzkeller Hall (St.Gallen, Switzerland), Jazz Philharmonic Hall, JFC jazz club, "Street life" jazz club (St. Petersburg, Russia) "White Nights Swing", "Jazz Fever", "Tong Jazz" international jazz festivals; "Steppin' out for Dimock 2005" festival where Sergei performed among such stars as Oleta Adams, T.S. Monk junior, Ramsey Lewis trio, The Funk Brothers, Regina Carter, Hiromi and Andrew Ward.
